Call it the case of the missing dining room.
When Mark Matthews bought a new, $326,000 town house in Falls
Church from a Rockville luxury-home builder after looking at plans,
he thought he was getting a four-bedroom house with three bathrooms
and a separate living room and dining room.
But when he and his wife Dieu Thi Matthews saw the completed
town house, a couple of things weren't exactly the way they had
envisioned. A set of windows in the front were in a different place,
and the living room and dining room were one room.
"It was a lovely place," said Mark Matthews, "except the window
looked like hell and, from my perspective, it was missing a dining
room."
