Article: Muslim charity's European chief linked to bin Laden

CHICAGO (AP) - A man Spanish authorities say has links to Osama bin Laden's terrorist network also is an official of a suburban Chicago Muslim charity whose assets have been frozen, the charity's lawyer said Monday.

Nabil Sayadi, head of Global Relief Foundation's European operations, was among several men accused by Spanish authorities April 24 as receiving money earmarked for bin Laden's al-Qaida organization.

Spanish authorities also identified Sayadi as having close ties to Wadih El-Hage, a bin-Laden lieutenant who was convicted in the deadly 1998 bombings of U.S. Embassies in Tanzania and Kenya.
