FENNIMORE, Wis. - Nearly a year after the local pharmacy closed,
the city of Fennimore is still trying to recruit a pharmacist into
the community.
Fennimore is facing what has become a growing national trend - the
shortage of pharmacists, especially in rural areas.
John and Mary Pat Bohlman closed Fennimore Pharmacy Services on
Oct. 1 after one pharmacist at the drugstore took a new job and the
other left for personal reasons.
Although the Bohlmans only owned the drugstore for 31/2 years, it
had been in the town for more than 100 years. It had been for sale
for three years before the Bohlmans bought it.
Before closing the Fennimore pharmacy, the Bohlmans, who also own
Bohlman Drug Store ...
