Article: Library says grants worth checking out; Shullsburg: Children's books, adult books, books on tape and computers are added

SHULLSBURG, Wis. - Grants have been used to purchase more than $6,500 worth of books, books on cassette, computers and automation equipment at the Shullsburg Public Library this year.

As she unpacked the first shipment of 67 children's books purchased with a Libri Foundation grant, library director Carol Stoudt said the grants provide resources that otherwise would not be available at the library.

"It's wonderful because our book budget has to stretch from children's picture books to adult fiction and non-fiction," she said.

Adult books tend to be more costly, and the extra children's books let Stoudt line the shelves with brand-new books that kids spy and quickly scoop up to take home.
