DEKALB, Ill. (AP) - Undefeated and ranked No. 20, Bowling Green
was receiving the type of national exposure few if any teams in
school history had equaled. And it showed.
Bowling Green traveled to Northern Illinois on Saturday as one of
four teams in Division I with unbeaten records, ranked in the Top 25
for the first time since 1985. It was something receiver Robert Redd
said players were well aware of - perhaps too aware.
"We came into the game and so much stuff was going on and we
weren't focused, and it showed in the second half," Redd said of
Saturday's 26-17 loss to Northern Illinois.
"There was so much stuff going on, so much hype for the game. We
didn't play Bowling Green football."
