Article: Concealed weapons law argued; Unconstitutional: State Supreme Court hears cases

MADISON (AP) - The state's concealed weapons ban prevents people from exercising their right to bear arms guaranteed by a state constitutional amendment, two attorneys told the state Supreme Court Thursday.

"Rights matter, and rights have to be respected," attorney Michael Gould said.

Courts and police have applied the concealed weapons law in a manner that conflicts with the constitutional right to bear arms, and the result has been confusion for gun owners and law enforcement, attorneys told the court.
