The East Dubuque and Warren/Stockton baseball teams split their
regular season meetings and are in a tight Northwest Upstate Illini-
North Conference race to the finish.
Play their respective cards right, and regardless of what happens
in the NUI North the teams could be headed for a rubber match in
their Illinois Class A regional final.
But come what may, it has already been a terrific season for the
Warriors, who have parlayed last year's abundance of youth into an
experienced, dangerous team in 2003.
Last season East Dubuque played just one senior and had four
freshmen and four sophomores who started or saw significant playing
