WEST DES MOINES (AP) - It's all about location, convenience and
the resale value of your home, say people who live in one of Iowa's
fastest growing cities.
According to Census Bureau estimates being released Thursday,
seven of the top 10 fastest-growing cities in Iowa, those with
populations of 10,000 or more, were suburbs of Des Moines.
Johnston, with 10,111 residents, led the list with an increase of
7.8 percent, or 721 people, according to the Census figures.
West Des Moines came in second with 4.7 percent growth, which
represented the largest number of people moving into a city at 2,233.
Census numbers estimate West Des Moines' population at 49,961.
