Article: Hawkeye workhorse; Horner's comfort zone grows as minutes rise

IOWA CITY (AP) - It's been a while since Jeff Horner spent more than a minute or two on the Iowa bench. Excuse him if he forgets what the view is like from the sidelines.

He's not complaining. Neither is his coach, who has few other options for replacing Horner's leadership, defense and - of late - scoring.

The sophomore guard leads Iowa in minutes played, averaging nearly 37 a game. He played 49 minutes in a double-overtime win at Indiana two weeks ago, after playing all 40 against Michigan State four days earlier.

"I don't mind it, playing that many minutes," Horner told reporters Monday. "I played every minute when I was in high school and I played a lot of minutes last year.
