Foes and proponents of Wisconsin's proposed concealed weapons
legislation expect the issue to resurface - in time for November's
elections.
The state's 134-year-old ban on concealed weapons remained intact
earlier this week after the state Assembly narrowly upheld Gov. Jim
Doyle's veto of legislation that would have allowed residents to get
permits to carry guns. Assembly members are up for re-election this
year.
The Republican-led Senate overrode Doyle's veto last month with a
23-10 vote.
Seth Boffeli, of the Democratic Party of Wisconsin, predicted
carry-and-conceal will be a big issue in November. He thinks the GOP
will try to energize the "pro-gun" wing of the party; the Democrats
