KIELER, Wis. - Laura Robertson once joked about dressing up as a
lung for Halloween.
That was when the 18-year-old Kieler resident with cystic fibrosis
worried she might need a lung transplant.
The laughter helped her maintain a positive attitude in the face
of a baffling disease.
"Laughing about it is better than sitting around being 'Poor me,'
" she said. "Things could always be worse."
Robertson and her family will participate in the annual "Great
Strides" cystic fibrosis fund-raising walk on Saturday at Louis
Murphy Park in Dubuque.
