Jerry Hairston Jr. is the guy the Chicago Cubs got when they traded Sammy Sosa, an identity he quickly hopes to shed.

Hairston wants to make his own mark with the Cubs, stay healthy for the first time in two years and work his way into a lineup that has been considerably altered since last season.

"I think I'm more of a guy who does the little things, moves guys over. I can run and steal a base. I can contribute in that area and hopefully they traded for me to do that," Hairston said.
