Article: Reilly will always be a Hawkeye at heart; Dubuque native takes spot in Hall of Fame

Mike Reilly said he hums the Iowa fight song every time he sinks a birdie putt.

It's been more than four decades, but the Dubuquer will never forget the feelings, sights, smells and sounds of his days as a Hawkeyes football star. Iowa will never forget Reilly, either.

That became official on Saturday, when the 63-year-old was enshrined in the National Iowa Varsity Club Athletic Hall of Fame. He was part of a six-member class inducted at the annual Varsity Club banquet and recognized at halftime of the Hawkeyes' 56-0 season- opening rout of Ball State at Kinnick Stadium in Iowa City.
