A little more than a week ago, I saw that there was a hot dog
eating competition at the Dubuque County Fair and thought I would
give it a try on Thursday.
The goal is to eat as many hot dogs as possible in three minutes.
It sounded easy, so I tried it earlier in the week and only did three
each time, which wasn't good enough to beat the record set last year
of 6 1/2 hot dogs.
There were more than 100 people in the crowd and more than 60
people in the contest. Fair staff cooked more than 300 hot dogs for
the "eaters."
