SHULLSBURG, Wis. - A major Midwest dairy cooperative, with a
presence in Dubuque and Platteville, is giving Shullsburg an economic
lift.
Swiss Valley Farms, a Davenport, Iowa-based dairy cooperative, has
bought the remaining structures of the Shullsburg Creamery campus for
$4 million. Swiss Valley acquired the 18.35-acre campus through
Inland Companies Inc., a commercial real estate brokerage firm that
has offices in Madison and Milwaukee. The property was placed in a
receivership late last year.
"I can't look at it without looking at where we were nine months
ago and facing a future too many small towns face, the loss of its
