As a new state Legislature readies to open in January, the wish
list for the Dubuque Area Chamber of Commerce and other members of
the Iowa Chamber Alliance is a case of "deja vu all over again."
The list, which covers community revitalization, infrastructure
investment, a better tax climate and work-force development, was
presented last week by alliance members at a news conference at the
Iowa Capitol.
While alliance priorities are familiar, they are being presented
to a Legislature in which the November election shifted control from
Republicans to Democrats in both the House and Senate.
