The Port of Dubuque could sport the largest parking ramp in the
city by 2010 as part of the America's River Phase II project.
The Dubuque City Council will be asked Monday to allow city staff
to negotiate with the Dubuque County Historical Society about
building the 750-slot ramp estimated to cost $13 million.
City Manager Mike Van Milligen said it would serve as the city's
commitment to the project's second phase announced by the Dubuque
County Historical Society and the Diamond Jo Casino in the fall.
Diamond Jo plans to build a $50 million casino along Bell Street.
The historical society applied for $9 million in Vision Iowa
funds for its part of the deal in a $32 million upgrade of the ...
