Rivals sometimes seem destined to meet in the playoffs. And like
Red Sox and Yankees fans arriving at a four-way stop at the exact
same time, neither yields without a fight.
Fate could lead to yet another postseason encounter in this week's
Iowa Class 1A Region 7 field between Bellevue Marquette and Andrew,
two sizzling teams on a potential track to another chapter in what
may be the Big East Conference's best current rivalry.
"The most important thing is being mentally prepared for a rivalry
like that," said Andrew senior forward Megan Johnson said.
