Article: Barbaro romps to Kentucky Derby win

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The deepest Kentucky Derby in recent memory turned into a rout by a horse whose grandsire was named after Roberto Clemente.

Barbaro, an undefeated bay colt bred and owned by a couple from eastern Pennsylvania, cruised to a 6 1/2-length victory in the most lopsided Derby in 60 years.

"What can I say," said Barbaro trainer Michael Matz, another Pennsylvania native. "Everyone saw it. They know what he did."

Barbaro's paternal "grandfather" is Roberto, who was owned and bred by the late John W. Galbreath, the former Pittsburgh Pirates owner. Galbreath named Roberto in honor of the late Hall of Fame
