Move over Heinz 57, Penn Brewery is releasing a condiment line of
its own.
Today is the official unveiling of two Penn Brewery pub style
mustards.
Penn Brewery, in the North Side, and PLB Sports Inc., a food
marketing company, teamed up to create Penn Gold and Penn Pilsner
mustards. The condiments contain the flavors of their namesake
lagers. The Penn Gold variety is flavored with stone-ground peppers,
and the Penn Pilsner version contains the taste of freshly ground
horseradish.
"I like both very much," says Tom Pastorius, founder of Penn
Brewery. "It depends on what mood I'm in, but I like the Penn Gold
better -- it's not quite as hot."
