Pitching with a chip on his shoulder has worked out so well for Ian Snell that he has no plan of abandoning that approach.

Snell continued his run of impressive starts Tuesday when he pitched seven scoreless innings in the Pirates' 3-0 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks that finally gave them double digits in wins for the season.

Snell (2-2) stymied the Diamondbacks on five hits and didn't allow a runner beyond second base before yielding to the bullpen. Roberto Hernandez zipped through the eighth, then Mike Gonzalez wrapped up the shutout by working out of a two-on, no-out jam in the ninth for his fourth save.
