Manager Jim Tracy said Wednesday that shortstop Jack Wilson was
available to pinch hit last night against the Arizona Diamondbacks at
PNC Park. Tracy described Wilson as being about 60 percent recovered
from an injury to his right hamstring, suffered May 6 while running
the bases in Washington, D.C. Freddy Sanchez started at shortstop in
place of Wilson for the second consecutive game.
Tracy said that he had not received any new information regarding
the state of catcher/first baseman Ryan Doumit, who sustained an
injury to his left hamstring while running the bases May 6 in
Washington, D.C. Last week, Doumit returned to the Pirates after
missing three weeks due to an injured left ...
