Oct. 14 -- Barry Bonds' throw from left field to home plate is
late, allowing Sid Bream to score the game-winning run in Atlanta's
stunning, 3-2 victory over the Pirates in Game 7 of the National
League Championship Series.
Dec. 8 -- Bonds signs a six-year, $43.75 million deal with the San
Francisco Giants. The Pirates' entire payroll in 1992 was $32.59
million.
1993
April 9 -- In his first game in Pittsburgh as a Giant, Bonds goes
2 for 4 and scores three runs. Al Martin, who replaced Bonds in left
field for the Pirates, goes 0 for 4 with two strikeouts.
