The Johnny Appleseed Children's Theatre production of "Charlotte's
Web," at Apple Hill Playhouse in Delmont, is a show by young people
for young people, but all ages can enjoy it.
E.B. White wrote the novel, which was adapted by Joseph Robinette.
Director Lauren Nester, 18, a 2005 graduate of Penn Trafford High
School in her first year at Penn State University, is thrilled with
the set, which includes a barn with rafters where Charlotte the
spider spins webs that save the life of her friend, Wilbur the pig.
"It's funny because Apple Hill is a barn, but there's a barn on
stage," says Nester. "She's going to create these webs onstage."
There won't be any heavy, bulky animal costumes.
