When Patricia "Patty" Lignelli heard about a need in her hometown,
she answered the call but didn't stop there.
"She volunteered for everything and volunteered her friends right
along with her," said Marie Fronzaglio, recalling Lignelli who passed
away in March. "Every time her hand went up it was like, 'What is she
going to get us into now?'"
"She could talk anybody into anything, mostly for good," said
Harry Ackerman, who graduated from Donora Senior High School with
Lignelli in 1955.
Lignelli enlisted Ackerman's help for delivering Meals on Wheels,
baking for St. Dominic's, working at Our Lady of the Valley's fair
