It's unlikely David B.H. Allen ever imagined his legacy would stir
so many questions nearly two centuries after his birth. But those
inquiries continue and Allen's descendants have most of the answers.
Fred Allen and his sister, Suzie Quinto, and their cousin, Allyene
Kelly, all of Rostraver Township, are the caretakers of the family
history.
"He was my great-grandfather," Fred Allen said of David B.H.
Allen. "He's the one who apparently started everything."
Well, almost.
Actually, it was Robert F. Allen, Fred's grandfather, who launched
the sprawling Allen's Crossroads area of Rostraver. That section of
the township, which began with the Allen family's "big house" and
farm, evolved into one ...
