This PIAA Class AAA Western quarterfinalist was so thoroughly
dominant that it outscored opponents by an average of 32.5 points,
recorded five shutouts and allowed only 152.8 yards per game this
season.
That might sound like an apt description of Thomas Jefferson, but
it actually belongs to the Jaguars' opponent.
There is a theme of familiarity between Thomas Jefferson (13-0)
and Selinsgrove (13-0), which meet at 7 p.m. Saturday at Altoona's
Mansion Park Stadium.
For one, this is a rematch of their 2004 state quarterfinal game,
where Thomas Jefferson rallied for a 20-14 overtime victory on the
same field and then went on to win its first PIAA football
championship.
