The Sharing and Caring Foundation of Westmoreland County Inc.'s
annual "Sharing and Caring" event Oct. 1 benefited a fund for county
residents with breast cancer, and the general public, through
educational opportunities.
After lunch and a health fair at Four Points by Sheraton, in
Hempfield Township, about 200 women listened to breast cancer
survivor and motivational speaker Sue Buchanan, of Nashville.
Buchanan, author of 13 books, is mother to Dana and Mindy.
"I'm Alive and the Doctor's Dead," was written after the author's
dismal diagnosis 22 years ago.
If she'd died, Buchanan said, her daughters would have learned
