Article: Pitt crushes South Florida in Big East action

The Pitt women's basketball team held South Florida to 14 first- half points on its way to a dominating Big East Conference victory Saturday.

Pitt scored off the opening tip and never trailed in a 73-48 win over South Florida before 5,414 fans at Petersen Events Center.

South Florida's 14 first-half points and 16.1 percent first-half shooting were the lowest of any Pitt opponent this season. The 14 points in a half are the Panthers' best defensive half in at least 10 seasons, and South Florida's worst first half since January 1997.
