After improving defensively this season facing the familiar
opponents of the NAIA American Mideast Conference, unranked Geneva
College enters a place no other women's basketball team at the Beaver
County school has known.
The Golden Tornadoes (24-4), the AMC Tournament champions who have
relied primarily on a stingy defense to set a school record for
victories in a season, will be making their first appearance in the
NAIA Division II playoffs.
They face No. 8 MidAmerica Nazarene (30-3) in a first-round game
Thursday in Sioux City, Iowa.
