Complaints from Jeannette residents to police about illicit drug
sales last fall in the city resulted in criminal charges being filed
against 21 street-level dealers Friday, according to state Attorney
General Tom Corbett.
Narcotics agents from Corbett's office and 45 area police officers
participated in yesterday's roundup of suspects.
Corbett said that while those arrested were low-level dealers, he
hopes leads generated from the cases result in the arrests of mid- to
upper-level suppliers. Eight of those charged were from Jeannette,
while others were from Derry, Irwin, Latrobe, Pittsburgh and Verona
in Allegheny County, and Black Lick, Indiana County.
