MORGANTOWN, W.Va. - Coach John Beilein turned his 100th victory at
West Virginia into a 1-3-1 zone defense clinic.
The Mountaineers (23-9) allowed just 13 points in the first half
in a 74-50 victory over Delaware State (21-13) in the opening round
of the National Invitation Tournament on Tuesday night at WVU
Coliseum.
"Delaware State was a good opponent, but unfortunately they caught
us on a terrific night," Beilein said.
The Mountaineers could have started selling second-round tickets
at halftime, the way they dominated the first half before a crowd of
6,458.
