State gambling regulators ignored Majestic Star Casino's financial
problems when they awarded the company Pittsburgh's lone slots
license, two losing bidders said Monday.
Cleveland-based Station Square Gaming and St. Louis-based Isle of
Capri Casinos asked the state Supreme Court to overturn the state
Gaming Control Board's December vote giving the slots license to
Majestic Star's operating company, PITG Gaming.
"Such an enormously valuable asset cannot be squandered," Station
Square said in yesterday's court filing. "The people of Pennsylvania
deserve better than PITG/Majestic Star. They deserve better than a
company struggling financially from day to day."
