Contractor Ian Miller, from Bloomfield's Zambano & Sons, thinks of
his first viewing of the mansion, and remembers walls nearly
destroyed by water from burst pipes.
Kim Kisner, from the Junior League of Pittsburgh, recalls flooded
floors, but says the Squirrel Hill house just "called to us as an
undiscovered gem."
The Beechwood Boulevard house's restoration evidently sounded a
cry worth answering, as will be seen as tours begin today at the 18th
Designers' Show House.
In some ways, work at the 17-room home reflects the attitude of
the crew from Today's Home in Green Tree, which worked on the
striking Moroccan-flavored dining room.
