MILWAUKEE -- The division has been ridiculed in recent years as
"Comedy Central," due to its lack of powerhouse teams and big-name
stars. But the National League Central appears to have improved,
including an upstart frontrunner -- the Milwaukee Brewers -- with the
best record in the league.
"Look at the job (the Brewers) have done so far," Pirates manager
Jim Tracy said. "And it's safe to say we've improved our team. Look
at the pitchers in this division."
Houston has Roy Oswalt. Cincinnati has Aaron Harang, the NL
strikeout leader last year, and Bronson Arroyo. Carlos Zambrano racks
up K's for the Chicago Cubs. Ben Sheets, Jeff Suppan and Chris
Capuano anchor the Brewers. St. Louis ...
