Blainesburg resident Sam Madia continues to dominate the senior
citizen track and field circuit.
The seemingly ageless 82-year-old retired technology education
college professor achieved a personal best by earning six gold medals
at the West Virginia Senior Olympics last month.
Madia finished first in the 100- and 200-meter dashes with times
of 18 and 40 seconds respectively and also won the 400-meter run.
In the field events, he bested the competition in the shot put (26-
5-1), javelin (57-6) and discus (62-0).
The event was held for the first time at West Virginia University.
