After trying for years to relocate to a new office, Greensburg
District Judge James Albert said he is pleased by a proposal to move
from the Westmoreland County Courthouse to the former county 911
building in downtown Greensburg.
"It would be a big improvement for us," said Albert, who has been
a district judge for 17 years.
Mel Wohlgemuth, county engineer, confirmed the relocation is
being considered to the first floor of the building at 40 N.
Pennsylvania Ave. It coincides with a study to determine how to make
better use of space at the courthouse.
Wohlgemuth said he is working with an architect on the design and
plans for the district judge office. If county commissioners approve
