English heritage just can't be trusted over Western Riverside - our status is at risk

English Heritage has sent three letters to B&NES council about plans for Western Riverside.

On August 29, 2006, concerning the first proposals, English Heritage was highly critical of the heights, massing and other aspects, including that 'the object buildings . . . with their suggested heights presented an alien concept' and that building heights were 'probably the one aspect of development . . . that is of most fundamental significance to the integrity and (World Heritage) status associated with the historic character of the city as a whole'.
