Roundup: U.S. Thanksgiving travel kicks into high gear

LOS ANGELES, Nov. 21 (Xinhua) -- Thousands of travelers descendon the Los Angeles Airport (LAX) and other U.S. airports on Wednesday as the Thanksgiving travel season kicked into high gear.

An estimated 1.85 million passengers are expected to fly in andout of LAX during the holiday travel season, which began Friday and lasts through Sunday, according to airport authorities.

Authorities expected a three-percent increase in holiday travelnumbers over last year's Thanksgiving holiday travel season at LAX.

A total of 210,000 passengers are expected to pass through LA/ Ontario International Airport during the holiday, a five percent jump from ...
