4th LD: Plane with 54 people aboard crashes in Turkey

ANKARA, Nov. 30 (Xinhua) -- A Turkish passenger plane with 54 people aboard crashed in central Turkey on Friday, NTV reported.

Earlier, airline company officials said there were 56 people aboard the plane that was missing.

CNN cited Tuncay Doganer, chief executive of the private airline company AtlasJetair, as saying that there were 49 passengers and seven crew on board.

The plane, heading for Isparta, disappeared from radar screens shortly before it was due to land at the town about 150 km (90 miles) north of the Mediterranean resort of Antalya.
