Usually sets of Regency dining chairs comprise six or at the most
12 - but the fine set offered by Jeffery's, Lostwithiel, on
Wednesday numbers 14 - six carvers and eight ordinary chairs. They
have come from a company of Truro solicitors and have bar back with
carved and pierced cross bars with scroll arms on fluted tapering
supports.
They will be offered together beneath a conservative estimate of
pounds1,500-pounds2,500 and have come from the same place as the
fine 19th century mahogany extending dining table, which has a wind-
out mechanism containing three additional leaves. This very nice
table pulls out to just under 120in (304.75cm) and has a guide of
pounds1,500-pounds2,000.
