Article: Imus returns to radio

NEW YORK - Eight months ago, Don Imus was criticized as racist, targeted for daily protests and forced from the airwaves over remarks about the Rutgers women's basketball team.

But today, Imus returns to radio, completing a comeback that seemed improbable at the height of the uproar back in April over his calling the players "nappy-headed hos."

Imus and his new station, WABC-AM, aren't saying much about the format of the new show, although at least one black person will participate regularly, along with longtime news reader Charles McCord.

His premiere will be held at Town Hall in Times Square, where
