Brookfield may become the latest suburb to seek access to Lake
Michigan water as it joins Elm Grove in talks about possible
connections to Milwaukee's water system.
Meanwhile, New Berlin's utility committee on Tuesday discussed
Mayor Jack Chiovatero's request to consider purchasing lake water
from the Racine or Oak Creek water utilities as an alternative to
expanded water service from Milwaukee.
Elm Grove officials forwarded a letter to Milwaukee Water Works
this week, seeking to negotiate the costs to purchase Lake Michigan
water and the details of system connections, village President Neil
Palmer said.
Brookfield aldermen have asked city staff to join those
negotiations to investigate ...
