Wilmington High School football coach Terry Verrelli knows his
team faces a stiff test Saturday when it tangles with No. 1
Jeannette.
And he's fully aware of how Jeannette has routed 14 previous
opponents, outscoring them, 770-110.
But Verrelli said he and his team will be up for the challenge
when the teams collide at Slippery Rock University's N. Kerr Stadium
to see who will represent the west in Hershey for the PIAA Class AA
Championship game on Dec. 15.
Jeannette (14-0), which defeated Wilmington, 28-7, in last year's
semifinal at Hempfield's Spartan Stadium, is ranked No. 1 in the
state by the Pennsylvania Football News.
