Here's one possibility: lobbyists who are thinking about becoming politicians.

Big-time Republican lobbyist William McCoshen has been talking to friends and money people about running for governor in three years, according to a half-dozen GOP types. Many of those involved in the discussions are former staffers for ex-Gov. Tommy Thompson.

"He's seriously looking at it," one Republican insider said of McCoshen. "He's serious about exploring it."

Apparently, it's never too early to think about 2010.

McCoshen, 42, downplays the buzz.
