Chesapeake High School has hired former Old Mill assistant Brian
McGeeney as its third men's lacrosse coach in as many seasons,
athletic director Chip Snyder announced this week.
McGeeney, who played lacrosse at Northeast and lives in Glen
Burnie, replaces John DeSantos, who stepped down after one season.
Tim Newby coached Chesapeake from 2002-06.
"We're very happy with coach McGeeney, both through his knowledge
of the game, and his being a homegrown player from Pasadena," Snyder
said. "I definitely felt he was ready to take on this team."
Chesapeake, which went 6-10 last season, has had just one winning
season since 2001 (9-8 in '04). Prior to that, the Cougars were one
