Indian film industry to grow to 400 bln rupees
NEW DELHI, Dec. 8 (Xinhua) -- The size of the domestic film
industry is likely to double to 400 billion rupees (around 10
billion U.S. dollars) in the next three years, creating
employmentopportunities for about six million people by 2010, local
newspaper The Financial Express reported Saturday.
The film industry is expected to produce 1,200 movies annually in
different languages and local dialects, the industry body, the
Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham)
said.
