Visit from Grinch? Gifts packed into Jeep reported stolen

NORMAL - They never even made it under the Christmas tree.

A 60-year-old woman who left dozens of Christmas presents and other items in her 1999 Jeep in the 1700 block of North School Street thought they would be safe, police said, but she was wrong.

A Cabbage Patch doll, a bouncy horse, a Fisher Price pirate ship, two cowboy gun sets, a 20-car Hot Wheels launcher and a child-size folding table and chairs were among the children's items reported stolen between 7:30 p.m. Dec. 5 and 9:30 a.m. Dec. 6.
