First Elizabeth Arden closes most of its stores. Now this.
Le Pavillon, one of Washington's priciest restaurants and the
first to introduce nouvelle cuisine to the nation's capital,
confirmed yesterday that it has filed in bankruptcy court for
protection from its creditors.
Now where will downtowners go for a meal, the cost of which
could feed a family of 43 for seven weeks in India?
But wait. Not so quick.
A principal of the restaurant insisted yesterday that the
acclaimed establishment at Connecticut Avenue and L Street has no
immediate plans to close its doors, but plenty of plans to
accommodate the changing needs of the new cost-conscious consumer.
