REDLANDS - Marian Rundle and the late Mary Johnson were honored
with the Rose of Sharon Award at the First Congregational Church of
Redlands Women's Fellowship's annual Christmas Rose Breakfast Dec.
5, in Kimberly Hall.
Last year's Rose of Sharon recipient Barbara Hook announced the
recipients noting Rundle's 27 years of work sending out the church's
"Tower Tidings" newsletter weekly, and Johnson's work as chairman of
the Esther's Guild. Johnson died Dec. 1 following a short illness.
Hook reported that the Rose of Sharon Award was first awarded 39
years ago, with Grace Porch the first recipient. Other honorees have
included Florence Beeler, Mary Kimberly Shirk and Ruth Ikerman.
